Ani Khojasarian Becomes First $100,000 "Pay The Rent" WInner on The Price Is Right

After making its debut in 2010, The Price Is Right's newer pricing game, Pay The Rent, has finally seen its first $100,000 winner on today's show. Ani Khojasarian from Glendale, CA, not only became the pricing game's first top prize winner, but she also became the third biggest daytime winner on the show by winning a grand total of $124,017 and broke the record for the most won in a pricing game during the daytime show. She nearly became the all-time daytime TPIR winner today by $248 in the Showcase round by coming within $498 of her own Showcase. To my knowledge, the previous record was held by Devon Grover in 2007 during the show's 35th season when he won $88,321 in prizes (including a new motorhome) playing Golden Road

"Big Money Week" Coming Soon to The Price Is Right

The record for the most won on the daytime version of The Price Is Right stands at $147,517, held by Vickyann Sadowski in 2006. That impressive record might be broken soon during "Big Money Week" on The Price Is Right. Host Drew Carey made the announcement on Monday during The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. During the five-day event, contestants will have a crack at winning luxurious and expensive prizes worth over one million dollars in value. According to a sneak preview clip, Plinko will have a top prize of $500,000 and the Punch-A-Bunch top prize will be multiplied by ten to a tantalizing $250,000.

The Joke's On You: A Look Back at April Fool's Pranks on Game Shows

Around this time of year, many game shows mark the annual “holiday” by airing a special April Fool's episode filled with zany and backwards stunts in an attempt to “fool” the audience such as swapping hosts and making ridiculous changes to the set. This year, The Price Is Right continues the Day of Fool's tradition by airing yet another April Fool’s show this Monday and the models will be taking over the show by hosting the episode while Drew Carey and announcer George Gray will take the models’ place. If it’s anything like every other The Price Is Right April Fool's specials within the past five seasons since 2008, this year’s special will not disappoint. At any rate, today’s feature article will spotlight game shows that have taken part in the foolishness and shenanigans that is April Fool's Day starting way back when in 1975.
