News In A Flash!: Quick Game Show Updates #93

This week's quick update article will take a look at the some of the latest game show news from the past week in 200 characters or less. This week's highlights include the GSN Games unveiling a new head-to-head gambling gaming app, BUZZR debuting the previously unaired To Tell The Truth pilot tonight, Winsanity's premiere ratings, Idiotest airing an all-nude (no, that is not a typo) episode this week and latest in US, UK and Canadian game show casting calls.

BUZZR is airing a To Tell The Truth marathon today starting at noon. The marathon features five new-to-BUZZR episodes and the pilot Nothing But The Truth to air at 8:00pm and midnight.

ABC’s revival of To Tell The Truth premieres Tuesday, June 14 with a sneak peak episode at 8:00pm and the “official” debut to air at 10:00pm

Skin Wars: Fresh Paint makes its series debut on June 15 at 10:00pm on GSN. The spinoff show has four contestants partner with former Skin Wars contestants and compete in three challenges for $10,000.

Last Thursday’s double-heading series premiere of GSN’s Winsanity averaged 507,000 and 416,000 total viewers.

On Tuesday’s new episode of Idiotest, the show will boldly air its first-ever all-naked show at 10:00pm on GSN.



GSN Games has announced its pending launch of Sparcade, a mobile app that lets users play games like Pac-Man and Tetris against others for tokens or money. The app debuts this fall on iOS and Android.

On Friday, June 17, dads and their kids team up to play pricing games and win cash and prizes on The Price Is Right’s Father’s Day special.

FremantleMedia has secured the international television rights to develop Sidewalk Karaoke. From Pango Productions, the interactive game show surprises pedestrians to sing karaoke songs for cash.

Decimate is returning to BBC One and the show is looking for contestants to compete on the third series.

Channel 4 has pulled a 2012 episode of Countdown from All4 and its repeat schedule upon Ofcom receiving a complaint about the episode giving undue prominence to products and services.
