"News In A Flash!": Quick Game Show Updates (Part 7)

This week's article is dedicated to providing you with the most recent game show headline news updates from the past few days in 200 characters or less, like Twitter. From Millionaire's Celebrity Week to GSN's viewership ratings concerning their two new original series, I'm sure that you will enjoy reading what's going on in the wonderful world of game shows.

GSN’s The American Bible Challenge premiere drew in record-breaking 1.73 million viewers for the network. The record was previously held by Big Bucks: The Press Your Luck Scandal in 2003.

The premiere of the new cooking game show Beat The Chefs did not fare so well with only 521,000 viewers tuning in. That means GSN lost almost 70% of their audience between 9 and 10pm.

Wipeout is now accepting contestant applications and audition videos for the upcoming sixth season of the ABC hit summer series. The deadline to submit your application and video is October 31.

Millionaire has moved its studio from 67th Street to 66th Street in New York City. The show has also made slight set renovations such as a larger money board monitor and a new glass podium.

Let’s Ask America is holding a casting call for contestants in Kansas City, MO on Saturday, September 8. Auditions will be held at the Overland Park Convention Center from 2:30-5:00pm.

Family Feud will enter into its 14th season in syndication on Monday, September 10. The upcoming season will be Steve Harvey’s third season as host and the show's first year in high-definition.

Baggage will make its debut in syndication on Monday, September 17 after NBCUniversal tested the successful GSN dating series in limited markets last year.

GSN will air a special "sneak peek" preview episode of The Pyramid on Thursday, August 30 at 10:00pm EST. Stay tuned!

The 30th season of Wheel of Fortune in syndication will see changes in the wheel configuration, on-screen graphics, and the scoreboard display screens.

The fourth season of CBS’s Let’s Make A Deal will debut on Monday, September 24. This season will feature a promotion by Publisher’s Clearing House offering a $20,000 cash prize each day for a week.

The new season of Jeopardy! will not see big changes, with the exception of a new background for the ever-changing opening video introducing each episode.

"Celebrity Week" returns to Millionaire this season. Celebrity contestants include Paula Deen, Mo’Nique, Cheech Marin, Jackée, and Tony Dovolani. The star-studded week begins on September 17.

The new season of Millionaire premieres on September 3 and new episodes of Wheel of Fortune will start airing on September 17. Check your local listings for both syndicated shows.
