break, TBIR is back with more news, articles, countdowns, and much, much more! In
this week article, I'm going to highlight the biggest game show news updates there
have been this month in 200 characters or less, like Twitter. All ratings for syndicated game shows are from
the week of March 17. Enjoy!

Disney-ABC Domestic Television has confirmed that Cedric The
Entertainer will officially be named the new host of Millionaire. Cedric will be the host for the show’s 12th season.
Matt Lauer and Anderson Cooper are frontrunners to become
the next host of Jeopardy! after
Trebek’s contract ends in 2016. Cooper’s CNN contract ends in 2014 while
Lauer’s NBC contract ends in 2015.
Eight-time Olympic speed skating medalist Apolo Anton Ohno
will be the host of GSN’s revival of Minute
To Win It. The grand prize for the GSN version of the former NBC series is
$250,000.
General Hospital stars Finola Hughes and Jason Thompson will
be playing for charity on Millionaire April
1 and 2 to celebrate 50 years of the ABC soap. The duo will be playing for The
Art of Elysium.
The new ABC game show Bet
on Your Baby will premiere on Saturday, April 13 at 8:00pm EST. Hosted by
Melissa Peterman, the show will have families predicting their child’s behaviors
for up to $50,000.
The CW will revive the improv “game show” Whose Line Is It Anyway? this summer. Aisha Tyler will be the host and Whose Line veterans Colin Mochrie, Wayne
Brady, and Ryan Stiles will return.
On April Fool’s Day Monday, CBS will be airing special
episodes of The Price Is Right and Let’s Make A Deal with LMAD’s first ever “Zonk Redemption” show
and another TPIR April Fool’s
Special.
In addition to network’s premiering Sale of The Century reruns for the very first time, GSN will also
begin airing Family Feud episodes featuring O’Hurley and the revived Bullseye round on April 1.
CBS has filmed a pilot based on an Israeli game show format
called The Money Pump. The show has a
team of two contestants answering eight questions before the “Money Pump”
drains all their winnings.
There is casting call for a new cable game show pilot called
The Impostor. The new series has
contestants observing a family and figuring out which family member is “The
Impostor”.
GSN has recently filmed a pilot for a new dating game show
called Where Have You Been All My Life?, hosted
by Dog Eat Dog host Brooke Burns.
Jack Black’s production company, Electric Dynamite, is developing a Japanese game show format called
Hide & Seek. This show has a
family attempting to hide from a celebrity within the family’s home.
What do Wheel of
Fortune and Jeopardy! have in
common this week? Both shows’ ratings fell 11 percent from last week down to
6.7 and 6.2, respectively.
Millionaire and Family Feud have also struggled this
week as both shows dropped eight percent from the previous week down to a 4.8
and 2.2.
NBCUniversal’s Baggage
followed suit with the other syndicated game show ratings and decreased
nine percent, down to a 1.2.
