Even though the Emmy Award-winning host of the famed CBS
daytime game show was not invited to appear throughout the show's entire 40th milestone season, he will be returning to the Bob Barker Studios to celebrate his 90th birthday. Bob Barker will be coming back to
The Price Is Right
to make a one-show appearance to air December 12, on Barker’s birthday, during
a weeklong tribute to the former host, which begins December 9. “Monday through
Friday, we’re going to be doing pet adoptions, which is something Bob did on
the show for years,” said executive producer Mike Richards in regards to what
the plans for the special week entailed. Sadly, this episode will air during the daytime, instead of it being a nighttime special.
On the special episode featuring Barker, the retired emcee
will help place a puppy for adoption and participate in a special Showcase
featuring prizes that honor the benefits of becoming 90. This should be a fun
episode to watch and Barker’s return will remind viewers why he is among the
best of the best when it comes to hosting game shows. The last time Barker made
an appearance on the show post-retirement was in
2009 to promote his
autobiography “Priceless Memories”. This
will mark the second time the show has honored Barker’s birthday, with the
first dating back to 2003, celebrating his 80th birthday. Check out the full
episode of the show in the video below and stay tuned for the special
Price Is Right show
this year on December 12.
