Good evening, ladies and gents! While you're tuning in to the new episode of The Chase on GSN, take a look at some of latest game show news headlines including the following updates:
- "Let's Ask America" Season Three Casting Call
- GSN's "The Line" Prepares For Week-Long Taping In Nashville
- Frank Skinner & Sue Perkins Pilot "Trust Me, I'm A Game Show Host"
- Eamonn Homles & Ruth Langsford Host ITV's "Gift List"
The overnight hit syndicated game show is currently holding a casting call for its upcoming season. Let’s Ask America is specifically searching for "bigggg, fun and eclectic personalities” to compete for up to $50,000 in cash if they can successfully predict what Americans think about certain subjects from the comfort of their own couch. If you’re interested, go to Gotham Casting’s webpage to apply. You will need information including a recent photo of yourself, current occupation, Skype address and a brief statement explaining why you think you would be a great contestant.
I love how Let’s Ask America has progressed over the past few years. In the relatively short time the show has aired, the series has seen its first $50,000 champion in the first season, completely revamping its set in the second and becoming a nationally syndicated series in the third, courtesy of MGM Domestic Television Distribution, after testing the waters by only airing on 13 Scripps-owned stations. If you haven’t seen an episode yet, today is your lucky day. Check it out on the show’s YouTube channel.
UPDATE: Bill Bellamy will become the new host of "Let's Ask America" for the show's third season. The new season will begin filming this August.

The network’s newest game show, The Line, will be filming in Nashville, TN at the The Court of 3 Stars at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park Saturday, July 19 through Tuesday, July 22. The series has its competitors line up and give them a chance to enter “The Vault” by facing a series of trivia questions and physical challenges.
Contestants will be competing for over $150,000 in cash and prizes. Registrants must be at least 18 years or old to apply, early online registration is encouraged and you can visit www.gsntv.com/theline to save your spot in “The Line”. According to executive producer Michael Dietz, this is the first time GSN has ever brought a game show to a city. No word of the show’s host or air date, but I will make sure to keep you posted.

Comedian Frank Skinner and comedienne Sue Perkins are piloting the U.K. version of Trust Me, I’m A Game Show Host. The pilot will be recorded in front of a studio audience at the London Studios on the South Bank July 29 at 6:45pm BST. Audience members must be at least 18 years or older and you can go to Applause Store to acquire your free ticket(s) if you are interested in attending the taping for the new program.
Although the TBS version wasn’t a smash hit in the U.S., I believe the show will be more successful in the U.K. considering Would You Lie To Me, a BBC comedy panel show with the similar fact-or-fiction premise, has been on the air for more than eight series. The show will air in primetime later this year if the pilot is successful.
This Morning hosts and one of the U.K.’s favorite real-life TV couple Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford will be hosting ITV’s newest daytime trivia game show Gift List. On each show, three engaged couples will have the chance to win their personalized wedding wish list and a dream vacation to top it off. The show’s inaugural series will air 10 episodes and will debut this summer.
This will be one new program that you will want to stay tuned for, especially with Holmes and Langsford’s presence adding a more relatable dynamic on the show among the contestants. At any rate, stay tuned for the new 12 Yard-produced game show coming soon to ITV.
