News In A Flash!: Quick Game Show Updates #58

Even though it has been about a month since I have published one of my weekly "News In A Flash" updates in lieu of the recently instated "Morning/Afternoon/Evening News" updates, the article's premise remains the same in covering many game show news headlines and updates from the past few days in 200 characters or less, along with some that may have been already covered on The Blog Is Right Facebook page from another season of The Winner Is kicking off in Nigeria to another contestant winning big on Million Dollar Minute. All ratings for syndicated game shows are from the week ending July 13.

Tonight's 8:00pm BST new episode of ITV's All Star Mr & Mrs features Kaye Adams, Sue Holderness and Vincent Simone teaming with their significant others to play for a £30,000 jackpot for charity.

This Friday at 8:00pm BST on Channel 4's The Million Pound Drop, Alan Carr and Nick Grimshaw will be taking on "The Drop" to win cash for their respective charities.

ITV's Tipping Point: Lucky Stars will see Sam Bailey, Louis Smiith and Hayley Tamaddon compete against each other for £20,000 to their charity.

Million Dollar Minute champ, Jonathan Somic, ended his run Monday with a grand total of $212,000. He also became the first champion to win for unbeaten consecutive rounds of Million Dollar Minute.

The second series of Channel 4’s Fifteen To One will begin filming at its new location in Glasgow in August at BBC Pacific Quay studios. The upcoming series consists of 40 episodes.

ITV’s Tipping Point will be returning for another series and the producers are searching for contestants. If you are interested, you can request an application by emailing apply@rdftelevision.com.

STAY TUNED: The series premiere of Channel 4's new singing game show The Singer Takes It All, with host Alan Carr, will premiere live Friday, August 1.

Nigeria’s version of The Winner Is, sponsored by Star Lager, premiered over the weekend with a new look and new host, Uti Nwachukwu. Check out the highlights from the first episode on YouTube.

Thursday's new episode of Hollywood Game Night will feature guest stars Seth Green, Monica Potter, Jenna Elfman, Dave Foley, Michael Ealy and Katy Mixon.

This Monday's new episode of Whose Line? gained 17% total viewers compared to last week by averaging 1.75 million viewers.

Sunday evening’s new episode of Wipeout averaged 3.85 million viewers and a 1.0 Adults 18-49 rating. The episode ranked 7th out of the 17 primetime network shows that aired for the evening.

Most syndicated game shows improved during the week of July 13 including Wheel, up 4% to a 5.8, Jeopardy!, up 6% to a 5.7 and Family Feud, up 7% to a 4.6.

Meanwhile, Millionaire was the only gamer to receive any growth as the show remained flat at a 2.0 for the fifth consecutive week.
