"News In A Flash!": Quick Game Show Updates (Part 2)

In this week’s article, I am going to spotlight some of the most recent game show headlines in 200 characters or less, similar to Twitter. From Who Wants To Be a Millionaire looking for potential millionaires to the U.K. adapting a popular U.S. dating game show, I'm sure that you will enjoy reading some of the latest game show news updates. Enjoy!

Canada is “getting ready to match the stars” with the debut of Match Game coming on the Canadian cable station, The Comedy Network. Sixty episodes of the FremantleMedia-owned show have been ordered.

The U.K. network Channel 4 has commissioned a series based on the GSN dating game show Baggage. Gok Wan will host the series and upcoming U.K. version will have a primetime slot.

GSN's new original game shows The American Bible Challenge and Beat The Chefs will be premiering on on August 23 at 8:00pm and 9:00 pm EST, respectively. Stay tuned!

Former Attack of The Show host Kevin Pereira will host the new Scripps game show Let’s Ask America.  The new game show features contestants via webcam answering questions based on surveys.

Ryan Polito has been named the new director of The Price Is Right as the show’s approaches its 41st season. Polito will be the 3rd director to take the helm of the long-running series in three years.

FremantleMedia is currently searching for contestants for ALL of their current game shows including The Price Is Right, Let's Make A Deal, Family Feud, and Total Blackout. Click here for more info.

Millionaire is hitting the road in search of contestants for the upcoming season. Starting on July 9, auditions will be held in Chicago, Toledo, OH; Norfolk, VA; Houston, Las Vegas, and New Orleans.
Television icon Andy Griffith died on July 3 at the age of 86. He passed away at his home in Manteo, NC due to a heart disease. Click here to check out his appearance on What's My Line.

The 3rd series premiere of Secret Fortune has been postponed until July 7 due to the coverage of Wimbledon. Check out new episodes of Secret Fortune on July 7 at 8:20pm on BBC One.

U.K. viewers, check out ITV’s new daytime game show Tipping Point weekdays at 5:00pm EST! For everyone else, you can check out Tipping Point on YouTube. It’s a good, slightly suspenseful quiz show.

Comcast SportsNet Chicago is following in the footsteps of MLB Network with the premiere of the new baseball game show The Batter’s Box. This series has 16 players competing in a 15-week tournament.

FOX's Take Me Out gets taken out of Thursday's lineup and moved to Saturday starting next week. This more than likely will mean the end of Take Me Out. I'm surprised The Choice hasn't been moved yet.
