Today's article will cover some of the latest game show news headlines from the past week in 200 characters or less. This afternoon's updates include Alex Trebek growing back his iconic mustache during Jeopardy's hiatus, Deal or No Deal returning for another series on Channel 4 and The Tonight Show cast playing a special game of Family Feud. All syndication ratings are from the week ending August 31.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, THIS IS NEWS: Alex Trebek has grown back his mustache for the 31st season of Jeopardy!. Trebek was known for shaving his iconic mustache during the 18th season in 2001.

REPLAY: Steve Harvey stopped by the set of The Tonight Show to host a special game of Family Feud with “The Fallon Family” (Fallon, Jason Segal, Steve Higgins) playing against “The Roots”.

Tomorrow’s guest stars on 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown include comedian/novelist David Baddiel, South African comedian Trevor Noah and Joey Essex in Dictionary Corner.

DEAL!: Channel 4’s Deal or No Deal has been renewed until the end of 2015. The new season will feature a new game play twist called “The Offer Button” and Alan Carr will be playing a game for charity.

Next Wednesday's Celebrity Squares stars include Dame Edna Everage, Lucy Pargeter, Patrick Monahan, Britain’s Got Talent’s Ashleigh and Pudsey, Rufus Hound, Carol Vorderman and Roisin Conaty.

DON’T CALL IT A COMEBACK: GSN’s Baggage is holding a casting call searching for single men and women to compete on the fourth season of the show. 

An online petition is circulating concerning “The Return of Double Dare. So far, only 116 people have signed the petition out of the goal of 5,000 signatures.

The U.K. network, Challenge TV, has purchased the rights to broadcast episodes the GSN version of The Chase. The reruns will debut October 14.

Nick Santo, the winner from the “Win a Date With Jill” game, became the first Wipeout Tournament of Champions winner. Santo has won a season grand total of $101,000.

The season finale of Wipeout, which ended with a doubleheader episode including the Tournament of Champions final, averaged 2.44 million viewers — remaining unchanged from the previous week. 

SYNDICATED RATINGS: In one of the last weeks of reruns for syndie gamers, Wheel of Fortune dropped 5% to a 5.6 and Jeopardy! fell 3.6% to 5.3. 

Family Feud was also affected by the minor setback of syndicated game show ratings for the week by slipping 2% to a 4.7. Millionaire remained the same at a 1.9. 

VIEWERSHIP/OVERALL RANKINGS: Wheel: 9.119 million, 3rd overall; Jeopardy!: 8.029 million, 5th overall; Family Feud: 6.669 million, 6th overall; Millionaire: 2.619 million; 21st overall.

NOT NECESSARILY GAME SHOW NEWS: Hosted by the former Millionaire host, The Meredith Vieira Show premiered this week to a 1.7 rating — a 41% increase compared to the shows in its time slot last year.
