Happy holidays, game show fans! This week will be another busy one in the wide world of game shows, especially with all of the Christmas specials coming down the pike. US viewers should stay tuned for GSN’s Window Warriors first season finale, the sneak preview episode of NBC’s The Wall, Let’s Make A Deal and The Price Is Right’s Christmas specials and BUZZR’s special slate of shows to air during the network’s A Betty White Christmas promotional marathon. In the UK, make sure to stay tuned for ITV’s Blankety Blank Christmas special and Channel 4’s Deal or No Deal wrapping up this month.
The Wall

Although the show doesn’t officially premiere until January 2017, NBC is giving viewers a chance to check out the first episode of the larger-than-life game show, The Wall. Executive produced by LeBron James and hosted by Chris Hardwick, the sole purpose of the magnanimous, four-story high Wall is to give away massive amounts of money to deserving contestants. The Wall’s slots display an array of dollar amounts ranging from $1 up to $1 million. Correct answers turn the Wall green and incorrect answers turn the Wall red, meaning they could stand to lose hundreds of thousands of dollars. Should luck bounce their way, teams could walk away with more than $12 million each episode. Window Warriors

The first season of the new GSN reality competition series comes to an end this week – more specifically, this Tuesday. After six weeks of intense competition, the eight-contestant field has been narrowed down to the final three. Professional window designers Tara Meagher, Edward Sajovic and Timothy Howe will have a Macy’s window-dressing challenge to endure before a $100,000 winner is crowned. The Price Is Right & Let’s Make A Deal

The Price Is Right and Let’s Make A Deal are rolling out special holiday episodes just in time for the Christmas season. All this week, The Price Is Right is offering gift advice for last-minute shoppers by exhibiting certain prizes as a “Holiday Gift Idea of the Day” throughout each show. On Thursday, December 22 and Friday, December 23, the longtime daytime game show will respectively air a Holiday Family Reunion Special and another Holiday Kids Special. Let’s Make A Deal will also be airing Christmas special on Thursday and Friday featuring families and kids hoping to dodge Zonks and walk away with incredible prizes – or even the Big Deal of The Day.
“A Betty White Christmas”

Starting tonight, FremantleMedia’s BUZZR is kicking off its second annual “A Betty White Christmas” event. The special programming block , which will air daily from 8:00pm-11:00pm ET and 11:00pm-2:00pm ET (encore), includes episodes of Match Game, Family Feud and Password featuring none other than Betty White. On Christmas Day, game show fans will be treated with a 12-hour marathon from 6:00am-6:00pm featuring every episode that has aired throughout the week.
Deal Or No Deal on Tour (UK)

For the show’s final episodes, Deal or No Deal is going on tour and contestants will be playing the game from various locations and UK landmarks including Blackpool Tower, the iconic Flying Scotsman train, the Eden Project in Cornwall, Alexandra Palace in London and the Trafford Centre in Manchester. In a few shows, Deal or No Deal takes to the skies as one episode will be completely filmed on board a Boeing 737. This is poised to be one of the most memorable – if not, the most – series of Deal or No Deal to air. So far on this tour, we have seen moderate wins ranging from £8,000-£26,000 and a rather disappointing 1p win on last Wednesday’s show. The most exciting moment of the series is set to air this month when one lucky and gutsy contestant becomes a £250,000 winner. According to the show’s official site, this contestant will become the ninth top prize winner in the show’s history. Stay tuned for that enriching moment and more this month on Channel 4.

Blankety Blank Christmas Special (UK)

ITV is set to air its revival of Blankety Blank, the UK equivalent of Match Game, on Christmas Eve with host David Walliams. Like Channel 4 and The Crystal Maze, Blankety Blank will air as a one-off special for the time being, depending how well or poorly the show performs.
