Jeopardy! and Todd Newton won Daytime Emmy Awards earlier this evening during the 39th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. The awards program was broadcasted on HLN. This is Jeopardy's thirteenth Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Game/Audience Participation Show and Todd Newton's first Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Game Show Host.

In Memory of Richard Dawson (1932-2012)

Richard Dawson died Saturday evening at the age of 79 at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Dawson suffered from complications of esophageal cancer. Gary Dawson, Richard’s son, announced his death via Facebook. "It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my father passed away [Saturday] evening from complications due to esophageal cancer. He was surrounded by his family. He was an amazing talent, a loving husband, a great dad and a doting grandfather. He will be missed but always remembered," Gary Dawson wrote on his Facebook page.
