Scott Brown Spends Entire £50,000 "Deal or No Deal" Fortune To Avoid Sharing With Ex-Wife

When asked the question, 'What are you going to do with your winnings?', contestants usually respond by saying that they are either going to save it, pay off bills and loans, or even give it away  to someone who’s deserving of it, as we have seen on The American Bible Challenge and You Deserve It! However, a contestant by the name of Scott Brown had plans of his own as the £50,000 ($80,000 USD) Deal or No Deal winner spent all of his winnings in a brief period of time to avoid sharing his new-found wealth with his ex-wife.

Brown won the money a few months ago and spent it all in a four-month period before his episode aired. Brown’s spiteful spending is attributed to his wife, Rachel, telling him that she no longer loved him and continued her affair with a truck driver whom she met over the internet. “How does she have the right to this money? My life has broken apart, I can’t see my [two] kids every day anymore and I have lost everything I have worked for 11 years”, Brown said. Upon viewing her ex-husband’s Deal or No Deal episode, Rachael took Brown to court in an effort to claim her share of his winnings. Long story short, the case was thrown out of court. Listed below is a rundown of some of what Scott Brown specifically spent his winnings on:

- £15,000 to clear all the debts the couple had from credit card bills, loans, and bank overdraft fees.
- £2,000 to cover legal fees for his divorce and bought clothing, toys, and household items for their two young children
- £4,000 toward a second-hand X-type Jaguar estate car
- An iPad
- A holiday in Mexico
- An electrician’s course, to start a new career

Through his snap and quick decisions about what to do with his winnings, Scott Brown made certain that his wife would not see a single penny of it. If you had $80,000 to blow in four months, what would you spend it on?
