News In A Flash!: Quick Game Show Updates #70

This week's update will review some of the major news headlines in the game show universe from the past few weeks in 200 characters or less including updates featured on the TBIR Facebook page. Updates include TLC's Labor Games returning this month, Jenny Ryan beginning her tenure as one of the resident Chasers on ITV's The Chase some of the latest news from GSN. All syndication ratings are from the week ending August 21.

Today, GSN has announced that Summer 2015 is the network’s most-watched summer in GSN’s history in Primetime, Total Day in Total Viewers, and in its key P18-49, W18-49, P25-54 and W25-54.

TLC is set to officially debut Labor Games September 15 at 8:00pm ET with two episodes. The network previewed the ambush game show in May and will release the full premiere on TLC.com on Labor Day.

A production company is holding a casting call searching for teams of two people to compete on a "true/false” pop culture game show for $100,000. Filming begins in October. Call closes on September 5.

Celebrity guest stars to appear on the upcoming second season of Celebrity Name Game include Terrell Owens, Weird Al Yankovic and Dascha Polanco. The new season debuts September 21 in syndication. 

Jenny “The Vixen” Ryan made her debut as the newest Chaser today on ITV’s The Chase. Ryan won her inaugural Final Chase round in 21 steps against a four-person team playing for £20,000.

This Friday's Celebrity Fifteen To One contestants include comedian Frank Skinner, television personality and entrepreneur Hilary Devey and comedian Dave Gorman.

After you tune in to Fifteen To One at 8:00pm BST on Channel 4, check out 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown at 9:00pm with guests Sean Lock, Greg Davies, Jon Richardson, Holly Walsh and Vic Reeves.

On Channel 4’s Deal Or No Deal 10th Anniversary Special, the show’s host, Noel Edmonds, will be playing the game for Children’s Hospice South West. The episode airs on September 18 at 8:00pm BST.

The Price Is Right Live! has cancelled its September 30 stop in Amarillo, TX at the Amarillo Civic Center Complex Auditorium due to routing conflicts. Cash, check and credit card purchases will be refunded.

Saturday’s new episode of Science Channel’s Race To Escape week-to-week ratings dipped 6% to 310,000 total viewers. Thursday’s new Geeks Who Drink averaged 292,000 viewers — 9% compared to last week.
