News In A Flash!: Quick Game Show Updates #79

This week's quick update article will cover some of the latest game show news headlines from the past few days in 200 characters or less including updates featured on the TBIR Facebook page. Today's news updates include a brand new YouTube game show featuring contestants competing for the title of "Biggest Fan of The Hunger Games", BUZZR's Betty White-filled holiday marathon, The CNN Quiz Show returning tonight and game show renewals and ratings.

CNN is set to air another The CNN Quiz Show special tonight at 7:00pm ET. The teams of Don Lemon & Kate Bolduan, W. Kamau Bell & Morgan Spurlock and Robin Meade & John Berman are competing tonight.

Check out the first episode of a brand new YouTube game show called Biggest Fan Awards. This series of shows has contestants compete to see who is the biggest fan of The Hunger Games.

BUZZR’s “A Betty White Christmas” holiday event starts Monday at 8:00pm ET. A 3-hour marathon filled with Betty White shows will air for the next 11 days and a 24-hour marathon will air on Christmas.

Beginning tomorrow, Millionaire will honor those who are serving in our military during “Armed Forces Week” by giving those contestants a chance to play the game for $1 million.

Channel 4’s Fifteen To One has been renewed for a sixth series on the U.K. network. Forty more episodes have been ordered to air in 2016.

ITV2’s The Almost Impossible Gameshow has been renewed for a six-episode second series and the shows are scheduled to air in January 2016.

The first season of GSN’s Hellevator wraps up this Wednesday at 8:00pm ET. Last  Wednesday’s episode of Hellevator averaged 201,000 total viewers and a 0.07 rating among Adults 18-49. 

Thursday’s new episodes of TruTV’s Billy On The Street and MTV’s Broke Ass Game Show averaged 257,000 and 384,000 total viewers, respectively.

Derbyshire auctioneer Charles Hanson has been signed on to co-host the new BBC One game show, For What It’s Worth, alongside Fern Britton. The show premieres January 4 and airs on weekdays.

FremantleMedia has acquired a 25% stake in Man Alive Entertainment, a U.K. indie television content company founded by Justin Gorman. Fremantle has the option to increase its share in the future.

Breakfast co-host Bill Turnbull will be hosting a new BBC One game show called Think Tank in 2016. The show allows contestants to be helped by a panel of helpers cast from the viewing public.

Last week, Leon Windscheid became the latest contestant to win the €1 million grand prize on the German version of Millionaire. 

Ryan Agoncillo will be hosting 13 episodes of Cash Cab Philippines beginning December 22 in a doubleheader premiere on AXN.
