News In A Flash!: Quick Game Show Updates #90

This week's quick update article will take a look at the some of the latest game show news from the past week in 200 characters or less. This week's highlights include ratings updates, MTV adapting a UK-based game show (currently airing on ITV2), Millionaire airing a special edition of the show featuring two contestants from the The Bachelor and The Bachelorette and Channel 4 filming a pilot episode to a new game show next week.

The season finale of Billion Dollar Buyer airs Tuesday night at 10:00pm on CNBC. Tomorrow, Tilman Fertitta visits small businesses iPourIt and Further Products in California. 


VICE’s Hannah J. Davies interviewed The Million Pound Drop creator David Flynn and quiz show developer Andre Sousa about the demise of the show and what makes formats like Drop appealing to audiences.

This week’s Celebrity Name Game guest stars include Nia Vardalos, Billy Gardell, Sheryl Underwood and David Arquette. 

Last week's third season debut of GSN's Skin Wars averaged 428,000 total viewers and a 0.11 rating among Adults 18-49. It ranked 91st out of the top 150 original cable telecasts among the key demo.

The Wednesday 11:00pm premiere of the series spinoff Political Idiotest, featuring Cenk Uygur Tomi Lahren, averaged 176,000 total viewers and a 0.05 rating in the Adults 18-49 demo. 

The Chelsea Lately reunion episode of Idiotest averaged 228,000 viewers and a 0.05 rating in the Adults 18-49 demo and also ranked 148th out of the top 150 original cable telecasts among the key demo.

MeTV takes a retrospective look back at “8 Forgotten Game Show of The 1960s” including Camouflage, PDQ, Personality and Video Village.

The Bachelorette’s Andi Dorfman and The Bachelor’s season 18 winner Nikki Farrell will be playing for charity on Millionaire on Thursday and Friday, April 28 and 29. 

MTV has announced the physical game show The Almost Impossible Gameshow will be added to the network’s slate of new programming at its 2016 upfront presentation.

Channel 4 will be filming a pilot for a new game show called Make or Break. The pilot episode will be hosted by Alan Carr and fans are invited to apply for free tickets to attend the taping on May 1.

The Price Is Right will be airing a Teachers’ Special on Tuesday, May 3 during CBS Daytime.
