News In A Flash!: Quick Game Show Updates #63

Today's article will cover some of the latest game show news headlines from the past few days in 200 characters or less (except for one). This morning's updates include another network acquiring Family Feud reruns, GSN reviving one of its most successful original relationship/dating game shows and syndication ratings. All syndication ratings are from the week ending September 7.

GSN has ordered 20 episodes of the Baggage On The Road, a spinoff of the popular dating game show. The series travels to four U.S. cities, including Austin, TX and Baton Rouge, LA, and debuts in 2015.

SQUARE BIZ/BREAKING MY OWN RULES: Tonight’s Celebrity Squares guest stars include Dame Edna Everage, Lucy Pargeter, Patrick Monahan, Britain’s Got Talent’s Ashleigh and Pudsey, Rufus Hound, Carol Voderman, Roisin Conaty, Tim Vine and Joe Wilkinson.

Friday’s new episode of Channel 4’s 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown will feature guest stars Vic Reeves, Jo Brand and Adam Buxton in Dictionary Corner.

The Phillippines’ GMA Newtork will debut a new game show September 22 called Don’t Lose The Money. Two 3-member teams compete in a series of physical stunts. The team who keeps the most money wins.

BBC One has renewed The Link for a second series. The game show, hosted by Mark Williams, has three teams race to answer questions and find the link between the answers.

TV Land will begin airing past episodes of the Steve Harvey version of Family Feud Monday, September 29 at 8:00pm EDT.

QUITE INTERESTING NEWS: The creators of the U.K. panel quiz show, QI, have released a second book called "1,339 QI Facts To Make Your Jaw Drop".

Ukraine’s STB has ordered 36 primetime episodes of its own version of the infamously controversial game show, The Moment of Truth, produced by Lighthearted Entertainment.

Nearly all syndicated game shows dipped ratings-wise for the week. Wheel of Fortune fell 2% to a 5.5, Jeopardy! decreased 4% to a 5.1 and Millionaire dropped 11% to a series low of a 1.7.

SOLE SURVIVOR: The only syndicated to remain unscathed for the week was Family Feud. Feud remained the same at a 4.7.

VIEWERSHIP/OVERALL RANKINGS: Wheel: 8.621 million, 3rd overall; Jeopardy!: 7.844 million, 5th overall; Family Feud: 6.823 million, 6th overall; Millionaire: Below Top 25.
