Since today marks the season premiere of many syndicated game shows in US, including Millionaire spending its 15th syndicated season in Las Vegas, today's article will highlight the top 10 game show moments that have occurred from late May to early September. Some of the highlighted moments include the return of Mastermind in New Zealand, The Price Is Right's primetime specials, Millionaire Hot Seat giving away its million-dollar grand prize for the first time in the show's seven-year existence and Channel 4's Fifteen To One crowning two series champions.

As we are only less than a month away from summer officially coming to an end, today’s article will focus on the veteran game shows that will be returning to television networks in September with new episodes. Next week, I’ll be reviewing the highs and lows of a few game shows that have aired this summer in the US and UK. For now, let’s take a look at what’s in store this year for shows including Family Feud, Celebrity Name Game and Wheel of Fortune.

UPDATE: The Price Is Right will unveil a new pricing game during the show's premiere week and Let's Make A Deal debuts its eighth season on CBS Daytime on September 19 with "Mega Deal Week"

VIDEO REPLAY: “Wheel of Fortune” Rolls Out New Crossword Puzzle Round This Week

Coming off of a momentous episode last week, Wheel is making history once more with the debut of its brand new Crossword Puzzle Round on yesterday’s show. For this week only, contestants will be able to “test drive” the round throughout their respective games. Instead of a category, contestants are given a crossword clue and will attempt to solve the related words going across and down the puzzleboard. You can vote on how frequently you want to see the new round next season on Wheel’s website. Two-For-One: First Tiebreaker in 10 Years & $100,000 Win on "Wheel of Fortune"

Yesterday was quite busy in the world of syndicated game shows with Steve Harvey celebrating his 1,000th episode on Family Feud by giving both competing families once-in-a-lifetime chance to win $50,000 in Fast Money (and the Blacksheres winning the temporarily-increased grand prize) and current Jeopardy! champion Buzzy Cohen bumping his now 8-day total up to $147,803. But both of those highlights paled in comparison to the uncanny occurrence of these two incredibly rare moments that happened on the same episode of Wheel of Fortune – a tie between two players at the end of the front game and a $100,000 bonus round win.

Current Renewal Status of Syndicated Game Shows

According to Broadcasting & Cable, several distribution companies are in the market of renewing the contracts of several syndicated series including Warner Bros.’ with The Ellen DeGeneres Show through 2020 on NBC-owned stations, CBS Television Distribution holding on to Hot Bench, created by Judge Judy Sheindlin, through the 2017-2018 season and NBCUniversal expected to renew Steve Harvey. In the world of game shows, veteran game shows Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! have been renewed through the 2017-2018 season by CTD, Debmar-Mercury is currently in the market to secure renewals for Family Feud, even though  Steve Harvey’s contract has been renewed through 2021 to host the now-popular game show, and Tribune is expected to renew the sophomore show Celebrity Name Game. Tribune’s decision is partly based on the company searching for ways to replace its downward-trending controversial daytime talk shows, Maury, Jerry Springer and Steve Wilkos.

VIDEO REPLAY: Rick Galten Wins $100,000 On “Wheel of Fortune”

Last night, Rick Galten, a court reporter from Fairfield, CA, was the latest contestant to break six-figures on Wheel of Fortune thanks to his big $100,000 bonus round payoff. After exhibiting an impressive main game performance, including solving the night’s first two toss-ups and earning $21,000 with the Express wedge, Galten faced his bonus puzzle. Once he correctly solved the puzzle, UPHOLSTERY FABRIC, Galten became the season’s second highest winner with $130,565 in cash and prizes, trailing Sarah Manchester by a few hundred thousand dollars ($1,017,490) and topping Chad Ruter’s natural $100K+ winning sum of $100,623. Not a bad way to start Wheel's "Wheel Around The World" week. Check out the big win in the clip below.

VIDEO REPLAY: Sarah Manchester Becomes Third "Wheel of Fortune" Millionaire

In the immortal words of Ron Burgundy, "Boy, that escalated quickly." Three days into the 32nd season and Teacher's Week of the long-running Merv Griffin-produced game show, Sarah Manchester, a middle school math teacher from Silver Springs, MD, made Wheel of Fortune history by becoming the third contestant to win the elusive $1 million top prize in the bonus round by correctly guessing "LOUD LAUGHTER" for her final puzzle of the day. Manchester's grand total was $1,017,490 in cash and prizes including a trip to the Dominican Republic. Manchester is ranked third among the all-time biggest winners on Wheel behind Autumn Erhard ($1.03 million; 2013) and Michelle Loewenstein ($1.026 million; 2008). Game Shows To Watch For The Week of September 14th

In the second week of Fall game show premieres, the top three game shows in syndication return with new episodes filled with big money, tough trivia questions and funny moments. Veteran syndicated game shows Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and Family Feud begin their new seasons today. Today’s article will highlight all three shows and what the viewers can expect for each show this year. Before I proceed with this article, let me present you with this fun fact: these three shows have aired for a combined total of 79 years in syndication. Like the show co-hosted by John Davidson, that’s incredible.
