NBC Orders “Ellen’s Game of Games”

NBC has officially given the green light to Ellen DeGeneres’ new series, Ellen’s Game of Games, with a six-episode order. The primetime game show, produced by Warner Horizon Television, is comprised of games featured on Ellen’s daytime talk show including What’s In The Box?, Know Or Go? and Heads Up! – the latter which was picked up as a series on HLN only to be shelved months later. DeGeneres will serve as host and as an executive producer through her studio-based production company A Very Good Production. Mary Connelly, Ed Glavin, Andy Lassner, Kevin Leman, Jeff Kleeman and David A. Hurwitz will also serve as executive producers. Excited for her new primetime series, DeGeneres said, “We’re pulling out all the stops — gigantic sets, hilarious games. It’s going to be like a combination of ‘American Ninja Warrior,’ ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race,’ and a water park. OK, it’s nothing like that, but you should still watch.” No word yet on when the show premieres.

"Heads Up!" Coming To HLN In 2016

Based on the popular game often played on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Heads Up! has been picked up by HLN for 65-episode first season run from Telepictures. Heads Up!, hosted by comedienne Loni Love, will be airing early 2016 on a daily weekday basis. Like KeywordsHeads Up! is also based on the popular mobile app of the same name, which has been down more than 16 million times on iOS and Android devices, played more than a half billion times and was Apple's top paid app of 2014. The series has contestants team up with celebrity partners and try to guess as many subjects based on their teammate's clues in a wide variety of categories. “I’m so excited that Heads Up! is going to be a game show. It’s so fun and addictive. I play it on my show all the time. I play it at home. I played it last night at Jennifer Aniston’s house. She wasn’t home, so please don’t print that part”, said DeGeneres. Heads Up! will be produced by DeGeneres' production company, A Very Good Production, in association with Telepictures and executive produced by DeGeneres, Ed Glavin, Mary Connelly, Andy Lassner and Jeff Kleeman.
