Two surprising updates surfaced earlier this week regarding HLN’s upcoming game show Heads Up and Channel 4’s popular game show The Million Pound Drop. Both networks have announced they will not be airing any new episodes of their respective programs in the near future. With Heads Up, this is an odd decision considering all 65 episodes of the first season have already been taped with host Loni Love and were ready to air daily from Monday through Friday. Alison Rudnick, a spokeswoman for HLN, confirmed the network’s preemptive cancellation. According to Variety, the last-second yank concerning the show, based on Ellen DeGeneres’ eponymously named mobile game and talk show segment, is the latest signal that CNN is rethinking HLN’s objective and direction.

"Heads Up!" Coming To HLN In 2016
Based on the popular game often played on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Heads Up! has been picked up by HLN for 65-episode first season run from Telepictures. Heads Up!, hosted by comedienne Loni Love, will be airing early 2016 on a daily weekday basis. Like Keywords, Heads Up! is also based on the popular mobile app of the same name, which has been down more than 16 million times on iOS and Android devices, played more than a half billion times and was Apple's top paid app of 2014. The series has contestants team up with celebrity partners and try to guess as many subjects based on their teammate's clues in a wide variety of categories. “I’m so excited that Heads Up! is going to be a game show. It’s so fun and addictive. I play it on my show all the time. I play it at home. I played it last night at Jennifer Aniston’s house. She wasn’t home, so please don’t print that part”, said DeGeneres. Heads Up! will be produced by DeGeneres' production company, A Very Good Production, in association with Telepictures and executive produced by DeGeneres, Ed Glavin, Mary Connelly, Andy Lassner and Jeff Kleeman.
