News In A Flash!: Quick Game Show Updates #55

Good afternoon, game show fanatics! Today’s article, as with every "News In A Flash" article, will cover many game show news headlines and updates featured throughout the week in 200 characters or less along with some that may have been already covered on The Blog Is Right Facebook page from contestant calls to a mobile platform puzzle game (similar to Boggle) possibly being brought to life as a television game show. All syndication ratings are from the week ending May 18.

With yesterday’s win, Julia Collins is only one game away from tying David Madden’s second place, 19-game record for the most games won on Jeopardy!. Collins has won $391,600 so far. 

Tonight’s Hollywood Game Night guest stars include Nate Berkus, Adam DeVine, Tony Hale, Arsenio Hall, Malin Akerman and Bradley Whitford.

DVR REMINDER: The second season of Bet on Your Baby will premiere Saturday, May 31at 8pm ET on ABC.

The new Nickelodeon game show WebHeads will debut on Monday, June 2 at 6:00pm with host Carlos PenaVega. The show combines physical challenges with viral videos, intuition and (of course) slime. 

The Price Is Right will be airing its first “Socially Awesome Week” next week. Viewers can use sites like Facebook and YouTube to live chat with the models, view live exclusive content and more.

Let’s Make A Deal host Wayne Brady will be a presenter at The 66th Annual Tony Awards. The awards ceremony will air on CBS Saturday, June 8. 

Millionaire is continuing its road auditions by holding casting calls in Atlantic City, NJ (May 31), Hartford, CT (June 3), Houston, TX (June 9) and Chicago, IL (June 13).

Mobile app developer MAG Interactive is working with High Noon Entertainment to create a game show format based on the popular "Ruzzle" mobile word puzzle game. 

This season of Jeopardy! will end with the Teen Tournament. The tournament will air July 21-August 1 and will conclude with a $75,000 champion, like last year’s unforgettable winner Leonard Cooper

Syndication Ratings: The previous week marked the first time Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune both tied in household ratings in nine years. Both shows improved to a 6.8.

Overall, Jeopardy! ranked 2nd among all syndicated shows and Wheel ranked 3rd, even though Wheel leads the syndication pack in total viewers with 10.708 million viewers.

In other news, Family Feud led Wheel and Jeopardy! in every major female demographic including Women 25-54 (2.8), Women 18-49 (2.3) and Women 18-34 (1.8). 

Family Feud appreciated 6% to a 5.2 while finishing 6th overall with 7.508 million total viewers and Millionaire raised 5% to a 2.2 while remaining at its 24th overall spot with 2.853 million viewers.
