News In A Flash!: Quick Game Show Updates #98

This week's update article will take a look at the some of the latest US and international game show news from the past week in 200 characters or less. Highlights include SNL's latest sketch lampooning Jeopardy!, QI returning for its "N" series with a new host, Wheel of Fortune returning to GSN, Idiotest airing a new episode this week and some of the latest game show ratings.

What Happened Last Week
Ghostbusters director Paul Feig called out BBC’s Decimate via Twitter last week for the show’s incorrect ruling about a question concerning who played Dr. Erin Gilbert in the 2016 reboot. 

Last night’s episode of NBC’s Saturday Night Live featured Tom Hanks hilariously competing in a “Black Jeopardy!” skit as a Trump supporter. 

Rebound and QI respectively returned to ITV and BBC this week with hosts Sean Fletcher and Sandi Toksvig. Head to the ITV Hub and BBC iPlayer to catch up on both of the show’s new series.

Episodes of the 1980s BBC game show The Adventure Game is now available to download from the BBC Store.

After pulling the plug on You're Back In The Room earlier this month, ITV head Kevin Lygo announced cancelling the network's adaptation of 500 Questions after its first four-episode series last week.

What's Going On This Week
GSN will begin airing episodes of Wheel of Fortune from the 31st season beginning on Monday. Wheel will air weekdays at 11:00am and 11:30am ET.

Big Money Week returns to The Price Is Right this Monday with over $4 million in cash and prizes at stake. Big money pricing games include million-dollar “Pl!inko” and $100,000 “Hole in One”.

This Tuesday at 10:00pm ET, GSN airs a new Halloween-themed episode of Idiotest. This episode features two teams dressed as zombies and vampires. 

Tickets are now available for Steve Harvey’s new series, Funderdome. The competitive series gives inventors and entrepreneurs a chance to pitch their ideas to the audience and win up to $100,000. 

Game show legend Wink Martindale will guest star on The Bold and the Beautiful on October 26-28 and 31 during CBS Daytime.

What's Going On In The Future
Millionaire will dedicate the week of October 31-November 4 as Hometown Heroes Week. This week features contestants who are known for volunteering their time for good causes in their communities. 

Next week’s guest stars to appear on Celebrity Name Game include Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Terrell Owens, Ana Gasteyer, Ross Mathews and Kate Flannery.

Game Show Ratings
Wednesday’s new episode of Spike’s That Awkward Game Show averaged 262,000 total viewers and a 0.11 A18-49 rating. The show ranked 115th in the Top 150 Wednesday original cable telecasts.

Thursday’s new episode of MTV’s The Almost Impossible Game Show averaged 201,000 total viewers and a 0.10 A18-49 rating. The show ranked 126th in the Top 150 Thursday original cable telecasts.
