BUZZR To Air “Salute To Politics” Marathon November 6 and 8

As we are approaching the end of a seemingly long and exhausting presidential election year, BUZZR will be airing a special “Salute To Politics” marathon featuring game shows with politically-themed rounds and questions. The marathon, which airs Sunday, November 6 starting at noon ET and Election Day Tuesday starting at 10:00am ET, includes episodes of Match Game, Family Feud, Press Your Luck, To Tell The Truth, What’s My Line?, I’ve Got A Secret and Super Password. One of the more interesting episodes you will want to tune into is a 1962 episode of To Tell The Truth in which the clever and inquisitive panelists attempt to guess which of the three challengers were the real Gerald Behn, special agent in charge of guarding Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt, Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy.

Since today marks the season premiere of many syndicated game shows in US, including Millionaire spending its 15th syndicated season in Las Vegas, today's article will highlight the top 10 game show moments that have occurred from late May to early September. Some of the highlighted moments include the return of Mastermind in New Zealand, The Price Is Right's primetime specials, Millionaire Hot Seat giving away its million-dollar grand prize for the first time in the show's seven-year existence and Channel 4's Fifteen To One crowning two series champions.

BUZZR To Air Week-Long Vintage Crash Course Blocks Beginning Tonight

In honor of the pending ABC premieres of the second season of Celebrity Family Feud and the Match Game revival, BUZZR will be giving its viewers a “vintage crash course” to prepare for the summer game shows. All this week beginning tonight at 8:00pm ET, BUZZR will be airing two-hour blocks of featuring star-studded episodes of Family Feud from the Dawson era and new-to-BUZZR episodes of Match Game 73. Some of the Celebrity Family Feud episodes to be showcased include the TV’s All Time Favorites special with cast members from Petticoat Junction, Leave It To Beaver, The Brady Bunch and Your Hit Parade, and the Walk of Fame special featuring Mark Goodson, Dorothy Lamour, Caesar Romero and Betty White. BUZZR’s Vintage Crash Course two-hour blocks will air from today through Friday, June 25 at 8:00pm-10:00pm ET, with rebroadcasts airing at 11:00pm-1:00am ET, and concludes on Saturday, June 25 with an all-day marathon featuring all the episodes aired during the week lasting from 11:00am to 7:00am ET the following morning.

BUZZR Celebrates One-Year Anniversary With Exclusive Programming

On this day in 2015, FremantleMedia North America launched the much-anticipated retro game show digital subchannel, BUZZR. Now available in over 65 percent of U.S. households since its debut, BUZZR will be celebrating its first anniversary all month long with a special birthday bash. Today, the network will be airing special milestones of classic game shows including I’ve Got A Secret, Dawson’s Family Feud, Press Your Luck, Super Password, To Tell The Truth and What’s My Line. As a special bonus, BUZZR will be airing the 1987 pilot of the Combs version of Family Feud along with the show’s first anniversary episode. That’s only the beginning of BUZZR’s big birthday bash. Take a look below at what the network has in store for its loyal viewers in June.

Summer 2016 Game Show Tracker

Game show fans will be in for treat this summer with the influx of revivals, renewals, specials and new series flooding the primetime network television airwaves beginning in a couple of weeks. With BuzzerBlog’s announcement of a potential Password revival on ABC, I think this would be a great time to review the game shows as well as some of the new competitive series to look forward to this summer. Much like NBC during the mid- and late-2000s, ABC will be leading the game show herd along with CBS and GSN debuting new shows and specials of their own. ABC Revives “Match Game” With Host Alec Baldwin

This summer will make you feel like you’re flashing back to the 80’s (at least on Sunday and Tuesday nights anyway) with ABC announcing its ten one-hour episode order of a Match Game revival to air on the network. The series, premiering June 26 at 10:00pm ET, will round out ABC’s “Sunday Fun & Games” block which includes the second season of Celebrity Family Feud with Steve Harvey at 8:00pm ET and the network revival and primetime premiere of The $100,000 Pyramid with Michael Strahan at 9:00pm ET. Alec Baldwin will be hosting the show, and will serve as the show’s host and executive producer alongside FremantleMedia North America’s Jennifer Mullin. ABC will be teaming with FremantleMedia North America to produce the series. No word yet on who will serve as the panelists on the revival.
